Title:	財政政策在考慮廠商異質性的壟斷性競爭模型的總體效果 Macroeconomic Effects from Fiscal Stimulus in a Monopolistic Competition Model with Firm Heterogeneity

Abstract:	在本計畫中我們根據Melitz (2003)的模型架構設定了一個壟斷性競爭模型並考慮廠商生產力存在異質性，並根據一般均衡分析得到以下三項結果：一、給定異質性對產出的放大效果較強烈或勞動供給逆彈性較小的情況下，擴張性財政政策對私部門消費產生擠入效果(crowding-in effect)；二、擴張性財政政策對廠商數量以及總利潤產生正向效果但對於總價格(或價格指數)帶來負向效果；三、同樣給定異質性對產出的放大效果充分大的條件下，擴張性財政政策有助於提高社會福利。 In this research project, we set up a monopolistic competition model with firm heterogeneity in productivity. Three main results are derived from a general equilibrium analysis. First, a fiscal expansion can generate the fiscal crowding‐in effect on private consumption, provided that the degree of increasing returns due to an expansion in variety is relatively strong or the inverse of the labor supply elasticity is relatively small. Second, a fiscal expansion has a positive effect on the number of firms and the aggregate profits, while it has a negative effect on the aggregate price. Third, a fiscal expansion may raise social welfare, provided that the degree of increasing returns to an expansion in variety is sufficiently large.
