This study examines the role of the sharing economy in shaping family decision-making from the perspective of women in Jakarta. It explores how the sharing economy serves as a tool for women to overcome societal challenges, with a focus on enhancing their role in family decisions. Using qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews, the study identifies how women engage with sharing economy platforms and the impact on their empowerment and family roles. The findings suggest that, with the right policies—such as neighborhood boarding schools, SME programs for mothers, better regulations for sharing economy workers, and increased government support for childcare—the sharing economy can help women become more active in family decision-making. This empowerment can improve their overall quality of life. The study also highlights key limitations, including the need for a broader participant pool and further comparative research across urban and rural areas, suggesting valuable directions for future studies. |
