Guo Xiang's(郭象) "zisheng(自生)" and "duhua(獨化)" are important concepts in Wei-Jin Philosophy. This article discusses some important significances of "zisheng" and "duhua" in the history of Chinese thought from the perspective of Tao as the source of "wu(物)". It is pointed out that, by emphasizing the concept of "zisheng" and "duhua", Guo Xiang fundamentally changed the people's understanding of world from yes to no for the discussion of whether there is influences between "wu(物)" and "wu(物)". In Guo Xiang's thought, it is the theoretical basis for the ideas- "wuwei(無為)", wudai(無待)", "wuxin(無心)", "shixing(適性)" which are the foundation for the interaction between human and world. In addition, Guo Xiang's "shixing" is a further development of the Zhuangzi's thought, and "zisheng" and "duhua" also contribute to the development of the concepts of "you (有)"/"wu(無)" and "Li(理)" in the history of Chinese thought.
