    摘要: 本書將具有學術、政策與實務上的貢獻。第一，本書的內容，與高等教育、遷移社會學、全球化、社會發展、跨文化研究等學術領域密切相關。本書所呈現的實證研究所得與理論發現，將有助於相關學術知識的累積。第二，由於本書專於探討台灣高等教育國際化發展與國際生的相關政策與實務發展經驗，其內容對於相關政府單位（如教育部，經濟部等）實具參考價值。第三，台灣政府與大學院校在積極推動高等教育國際化與招收國際生的發展下，對台灣社會本身，特別是同在台灣高等教育環境中的台灣本地學生、老師、學者等當地學術社群已產生相當影響。本書的內容，對於關心台灣社會高等教育發展與在台國際生的社會大眾而言，也可以提供重要參考。
