Tears in the Rain(Lágrimas en la lluvia), published in 2011, is the first work in a science fiction series written by Rosa Montero. The series' central character possesses multiple identities as a private detective, cyborg, and replicant, and she is hired to investigate numerous cases of collective madness among replicants due to the implantation of false memories. Despite her high empathic capacity, Bruna Husky remains intuitive and distrustful, as she feels unable to fully integrate with either humans or replicants. Bruna becomes a representative figure of otherness and marginalization in the science fiction storyline. Drawing upon post-feminist and transfeminist theories, this study aims to analyze how the protagonist, Bruna Husky, acts diversely to establish alternative relationships with humans and replicants, as well as to subvert the problem of inequality resulting from gender oppression. The study will examine the presence of essential elements of feminist science fiction in the narrative background and portrayals of the main characters in Tears in the Rain. We will attempt to uncover how power and desire manipulate the struggle for the survival of both human and non-human creatures.
