    Abstract: 泰雅族在臺灣本島生活的歷史悠久,桶壁部落座落於新北市大桶山中,部落族人的生活與山林鑲嵌。近年來政府管理狩獵制度中,面臨原住民族與保育團體及動物權團體爭鋒相對的困境,而國家對原住民狩獵文化的內涵了解仍不足。本研究的研究對象—生活於新北市烏來區南勢溪流域泰雅族,曾經歷大山產年代觀光全盛時期,受到資本與社會變遷的挑戰,原本狩獵文化的特性遭遇破壞、修復、調整、重建至當代,維繫著人與地的秩序。筆者身為泰雅族獵人,整理自身狩獵經驗與習得之生態知識,指出mlata的重要特性。mlata之意除了狩獵之外,其內涵有“上山走走、看看、聊聊、聚一聚、巡一巡,到山上放鬆心情之用意”,遠超過操作獵具、取得獵物的狹義性。本研究運用民族誌研究方法深入田野調查,進行參與觀察、深度訪談、焦點訪談與自傳式研究,以桶壁部落及狩獵區域為研究範圍,並透過家族獵團的社會網絡建立訪談的對象,了解部落的mlata經驗,以及當代政策下所面臨的困境。本研究並進一步反思部落經歷不同時代mlata的變化,提出可兼具生態保育、守護森林與維繫部落生態知識的建議,以做為原住民族自然資源管理上的參考。
    The Atayal people have a long history of living on the main island of Taiwan. The Tampya community is located in Datong Mountain in New Taipei City. The community people have intimate relations with the mountains and forests. However, the government's management of the hunting activities led to the conflicts between indigenous people, conservation groups and animal rights groups. It shows that the country’s understanding of the indigenous hunting culture is still insufficient. In the past, the Atayal people who lived in the in Tampya tribe experienced the challenges of capital and social changes. The original hunting culture Characteristics have been destroyed, repaired, adjusted, and reconstructed to the present day, maintaining the order of people and land. As an Atayal hunter, the author has sorted out the important characteristics of 〝Mlata〞 through his own hunting experience and the ecological knowledge he learned. 〝Mlata〞 means more than just hunting. It has the purpose of "walking, looking, chatting, gathering, patrolling, and relaxing in the mountains", which goes far beyond the narrow sense of obtaining prey with hunting equipment. This study applied ethnographic research methods to conduct in-depth field surveys, participant observation, in-depth interviews, focus interviews and autobiographical research methods, etc. Taking the Tampya community and hunting area as the research site, this study established the network of interviewees through family hunting groups to understand the difficulties faced by the community in Mlata under current policy. Furthermore, this study revealed the changes in Mlata that the community has experienced in different eras. Aiming to balance the purposes of ecological conservation, forest protection, and maintaining indigenous ecological knowledge, this study also provided suggestions for the government on the natural resource management policy.
