    The foreign assistance strategy of China has undergone a transformation during the leadership of Xi Jinping. The research examines the historical background, decision-making process, and many facets of China's foreign assistance, particularly focusing on its aid initiatives in Africa. The study examines the foreign aid model of China and compares it to that of Western donors, while assessing its influence on global development.
    Chapter one includes study background, motivation, research questions, methods, analytical framework, literature review, and scope. It highlights the increasing significance of Chinese foreign aid on a worldwide scale, enabling a thorough examination of its policies and outcomes. Chapter two examines the outcomes and strategies of development assistance, as well as the historical background of China’s foreign aid policy. Additionally, it examines the decision-making process inside Chinese institutions and the development help provided by Xi Jinping. This chapter emphasizes the transition from ideological to pragmatic and economic solutions. Chapter three explores the concept of South-South cooperation and specifically focuses on China’s assistance to Africa. This text covers the concept, development, and examination of China’s strategies and South-South collaboration. The Belt and Road Initiative and its substantial influence on Africa exemplify the correlation between China’s foreign aid and its geopolitical and economic aspirations. Chapter four delves into distinct encounters of China’s assistance to African nations throughout Xi Jinping’s tenure. China's dedication to African infrastructure is exemplified by the case study of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway. The second case study on the West African Ebola outbreak emphasizes China's effectiveness in dealing with health issues. The third case study focuses on China’s endeavors to enhance food security and improve agricultural efficiency in Ethiopia. This chapter also explores the influence of Xi Jinping on China’s attitude towards assisting, with a particular focus on the humanitarian, economic, and geopolitical considerations.
    The conclusion provides a concise overview of the research results and emphasizes China’s distinct method of providing assistance to other countries. This analysis indicates that China’s program provides a different option for Western donors and places a strong focus on the development of infrastructure. Furthermore, it addresses concerns with the management of debt, transparency etc.
    This thesis investigates China’s overseas aid initiatives under Xi Jinping’s rule, building upon previous research. The study provides an analysis of the reasons and procedures behind China’s assistance efforts, while also examining their benefits and drawbacks.
