This study investigates the development strategies of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in Taiwan under the global trend towards cashless payments. It examines how Taiwanese financial institutions respond to this trend and compares the practices of Singapore and Japan in this field. Through extensive literature review and international case analysis, the study reveals the changing role of ATMs in the modern financial ecosystem and the specific needs for technological updates.

First, the research analyzes the strategies and impacts of Taiwan's government policies promoting cashless payments, particularly how they influence consumer payment habits and financial service demands. Secondly, it delves into the successful experiences of Singapore and Japan in ATM technological innovation and service models, especially how they utilize highly integrated digital payment systems to enhance the efficiency and security of banking services.

The study identifies the main challenges Taiwan faces in innovative ATM services, including outdated technology, low consumer acceptance of new payment methods, and intense market competition. To address these challenges, the study proposes a series of strategies and recommendations, such as strengthening technological collaboration, increasing innovation investment, improving ATM user interface and interaction design, encouraging local banks to collaborate with international tech companies, and adopting advanced financial technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence to enhance transaction security and transparency.

Finally, the study emphasizes that with the rapid development of global financial technology, Taiwan must accelerate the technological upgrading of ATMs and adjust its development strategies according to market needs and international trends to enhance the international competitiveness of its financial services and the overall efficiency of its financial system.
