This study focuses on exploring how the electronics industry is addressing the requirements to achieve net-zero carbon emissions and align with the global market's ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability goals. This thesis selects the international company M and its partners as case studies, detailing how the company implements net-zero carbon strategies. It explores the company's proactive actions in the carbon emission domain as a global leader in the technology industry, demonstrating its commitment and impact on improving corporate operations, protecting the environment, and supporting social welfare.

Amidst the severe climate change and environmental degradation facing the world, the urgency of carbon reduction actions targeting 1.5 degrees Celsius became particularly pressing after the global community signed the Paris Climate Agreement in 2015, aiming to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius. As a vital part of the global economy, the performance of the electronics industry in environmental, social, and governance aspects is crucial for achieving sustainability goals. Achieving net-zero emissions is both a challenge and an opportunity.

The research begins by analyzing the necessity, importance, and related international dynamics and norms of the industry’s transition to net-zero. Subsequently, this study introduces M Company's net-zero targets, science-based approaches, sustainability strategies, climate goals, implementation paths, and upstream and downstream integration. Focusing on the supply chain management model, it examines how businesses face the challenges of a low-carbon economy and how they evaluate and implement low-carbon strategies. The case study discusses the methods adopted by the company in promoting a low-carbon economy and analyzes the impact and effectiveness of these processes and implementations. This research aims to provide a reference on the value and practical implementation methods for businesses planning to transition to a low-carbon economy.
