The font of Jin Wen(bronze inscription) usually used as an important research material and subsidiary subject for the development of bronze dynasty and calligraphy history. However, as an independent and complete discussion object, it is undervalued in the past. In fact, the evolution of the inscription can, not only clarify the evolution of the ancient characters, but also understand the dynamic process of social structure and ideology, culture and historical development. The font involves the replication technique, writing culture, making the inscriptions and some other issues, it also demonstrates the development and dissemination process of the "writing culture", which deserves further attention. In addition, the Spring and Autumn Period (春秋時代) is an important turning point in the ancient Chinese society and culture. Spring and Autumn Jinwen is also crucial to the development of the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Warring States Period The extensive regional culture in the Spring and Autumn Period also made the font of Jin Wen shows a distinct regional style. Therefore, this project is based on this in-depth and comprehensive study of the font during Spring and Autumn period, to explore the dissemination of Zhou people’s writing culture in the period, to observe its impact on local countries, and to explore its key role to form the inscription of following warring states. The project is expected to explore three sub-topics. The first is to explore the integration and changes of Zhou as well as local culture in the Spring and Autumn Period through the analysis of the font created in that particular age. The second is to explore the study of the Spring and Autumn Jin Wen with its same kind of engraved utensil. The third is to discuss the issue of its writing and reading matter. On the basis of analyzing the evolution process of the font in the cultural districts of the Spring and Autumn Period, this project provides the reflect on the font in different aspects and fields, so as to construct the Spring and Autumn Jin Wen in more systematic academic direction than the traditional configuration and gesture style.
