This study suggests that lower mortality rates can result in lower fertility rates and higher investment in education, leading to long-term economic growth when the lower fertility rate and the higher investment in children shift the quantity-quality trade off, which increases education. In this study, the authors examine the factors that hinder individuals from investing in education and skills according to the changing nature of the human life cycle. By studying the connections between mortality, fertility, education, and economic growth, and aims to gain insights into how population dynamics affect development.
