Abstract: | 工業電腦(IPC)是指在工業環境中使用的電腦系統,具有高可靠性、耐用性和安全性等特點。隨著物聯網、智慧醫療、智慧製造、智慧物流及智慧城市等新興科技之持續發展,IPC的應用範圍越來越廣,市場規模不斷擴大。 台灣工業電腦產業整體,在全球IPC市場領域的份額排名第三,擁有完整的產業鏈和優秀的研發人才。然而,台灣工業電腦公司不僅面臨外在環境變化與技術疊代的轉變,也面臨著來自國內外競爭者的挑戰。高毛利及市場需求持續暢旺也吸引越來越多其他類別的企業以M&A或入股的方式加入工業電腦市場競爭,這些企業在資金、技術、品牌等方面具有優勢。世界各地急起直追的很多,尤其大陸同質性的競爭廠商也非常多,也都對傳統工業電腦公司構成了明顯的威脅。 組織運行本就應不斷的檢視運營情況與作相對應的調整,許多工業電腦公司選擇透過併購擴張的整合策略是企業發展的重要決策選擇,但這並不是唯一的選擇。企業應根據自身的核心能力和資源情況,制定合適的發展策略。面對變局組織需要新的策略思維,也要掌握產業發展的關鍵成功因素。 本論文以威強電工業電腦公司作為研究個案,除了探討了工業電腦產業的發展趨勢、外部環境影響、競爭態勢、技術變革等因素,也從內部溝通與資源盤點的情況,分析了公司所選擇與執行的轉型與發展策略之脈絡。 威強電以「觀形勢而定策略,衡外情量己力」思維的轉型經驗為工業電腦產業提供了轉型與發展脈絡。工業電腦廠商想要在激烈的競爭中獲得成功,更需要聚焦創新、差異化和深化垂直市場應用。本論文的研究結果能夠為工業電腦廠商提供發展與建立競爭力之參考,也能夠提供其他產業具有相似利基特性的企業做為發展與布局之參考。 Industrial computers (IPCs) are computer systems designed for use in harsh industrial environments. They are characterized by high reliability, durability, and security. With the development of new technologies such as smart manufacturing, smart cities, and the Internet of Things (IoT), IPCs are becoming increasingly important in a wide range of applications. Taiwan is a leading global player in the IPC industry, ranked No.3 market share. However, the industry is also facing increasing competition from both domestic and foreign players. In addition to traditional industrial computer manufacturers, many other companies from different industries are entering the market, either through mergers and acquisitions (M&A) or strategic investments. These companies have advantages in terms of financial resources, technology, and brand recognition, and they pose a serious threat to incumbent players. Organizational operations should continuously review their operating conditions and make corresponding adjustments. Many industrial computer companies choose M&A expansion as an important decision-making choice for corporate development, but this should not be the only choice. Companies should formulate appropriate development strategies based on their core capabilities and resource situations. Facing changes, organizations need new strategic thinking and must grasp the key success factors in industry development. This paper studies the development trends, challenges, and strategies of the industrial computer industry. It takes the case of IEI Integration Corporation, a leading Taiwanese industrial computer manufacturer, to analyze the company's transformation and development strategies. The paper argues that IEI's transformation has been successful in addressing the challenges of the changing industry landscape and the increasing competition from external players. The paper's findings are of interest to both academic researchers and industrial practitioners. For academic researchers, the paper provides a comprehensive overview of the industrial computer industry and its key challenges. For industrial practitioners, the paper offers insights into how to successfully transform and compete in the changing industrial computer landscape. |
