    Abstract: 本文欲闡述漢娜.鄂蘭所指出其書寫極權歷史所面對的難題,以及她所採取獨特的「說故事」(storytelling)的歷史書寫方式與敘事形構的意涵,分為三方面來闡述:首先鄂蘭揭示了歷史敘事的政治性。由於人踐行自我與理解意義的需要,倚賴於人們得以自由交流的公共空間,而敘事透過對過去具有共通性的描述與判斷,能夠在非預期的事件導致共通的框架與判準失效時,重新界定公共空間的邊界。

    其次,鄂蘭注意到敘事作品作為製作活動產物的特性,當指涉過去的歷史時,敘事形構的目的論式模型不可避免對過去有所化約,而將故事的目的論式模型等同於實在則導致壓抑公共空間的危險性。為了講述共通的過去並避免敘事虛構性導致的壓抑,歷史敘事需要透過重新活化的方式摹仿過去行動者的處境,藉此構成一種平等的政治言說,這即是鄂蘭所採取的碎片化的歷史書寫方式。

    最後,鄂蘭書寫極權主義的難題揭示了重大事件後的創傷性的狀態,過去的經驗無法被安置,未來的預期窄化乃至封閉;而人得以展開自我踐行及表達其對生命意義的理解,倚賴於公共空間的恆久性。因此,雖然敘事能夠透過將人在時間中的差異與同一統合起來,藉由閱讀而重新經驗並理解我們時間性的遭遇;然而創傷性的過去,需要以碎片化的書寫方式與「結晶化」的隱藏結構不重複過去的方式摹仿同代人經歷重大事件的經驗,弱化最終的本質化判斷與歷史描述的因果關係。藉此設法安置過去並打開未來預期的空間,恢復群體的時間界域。在這個意義上,歷史敘事才真正構成了重構穩定與開放的公共空間的政治功能。
