For a company to thrive, it is crucial to provide proper training and support to its employees. This study examines how Walmart utilizes digital technology and traditional methods to train its staff. Walmart, a retail company in the United States, is renowned for its innovative business practices.
Specifically, this study first analyzes Walmart`s business structure and challenges from a motivation theory perspective. It recommends utilizing Kirkpatrick`s evaluation model to enhance employee performance. This model measures their reactions, learning, behavior, and results. The study proposes novel ways to assess employee training to improve corporate culture and foster career growth.
This study then highlights the difficulties that Walmart`s frontline employees and supervisors face during training due to demanding work and inadequate support and management systems. This leads to conflicting task instructions. The study proposes that Walmart can enhance training by employing technology and real-world scenarios, forming a cross-functional training team, and utilizing evaluation methods that emphasize introspection, retention, accuracy, and desired outcomes.
Finally, this study examines how Walmart motivates its employees to embrace the company`s values and develop their careers to maintain its position as a leading player in the retail industry. Other retail companies may benefit from these findings for their own employee training programs.
