Abstract: This Thesis outlines the business plan for my start up Ecommerce platform which will provide individuals and businesses within the Caribbean region access to a wider market where they can buy and sell products.

One of the main challenges the Caribbean is facing currently is the lack of full economic integration among Caribbean regions, as many leaders are realizing that one of the greatest strengths of the region lies in it being able to effectively, efficiently and successfully work together. Our ecommerce platform seeks to address this challenge, by encouraging the unity of governments and key partners in bringing about better integration.

The idea for this business plan came through a discussion with my brother, as one of the difficulties my friends and I faced while living and working in the Caribbean up until 2019, was in ordering items online that was either difficult to find, or extremely expensive to purchase on island. We would order the goods from websites like Amazon, have it shipped to a friend in the US who would consolidate the different packages for us, then ship to us in the Caribbean. The shipping and customs costs were high, and the wait time to receive the items were long.

The service our platform is seeking to provide will alleviate much of those challenges we experienced, and allow items that can be located within the Caribbean to be easily shipped in a timely manner and at a lesser cost. It is also a tool that will assist in the development and advancement for small to medium sized businesses that are seeking to scale their operations.
