This paper will build an in-kind donation system through the blockchain, and record the payment flow and the data flow by using smart contracts to execute transactions. With the transparency and the incorruptibility, we can transparent the flow of donations from donors.
In addition, in order to protect the privacy of the recipients’ personal data, this paper introduce the Verifiable Credentials specification proposed by W3C. With this specification, users can prove that they have certain qualifications to the service provider ( the in-kind donation platform in this paper) without hand over extra information about themselves. In other words, the information will only be revealed when the user agrees.
Therefore, this paper focuses on in-kind donations, which can not only avoid the misuse of donations, but more importantly, continue the life cycle of the materials and maximize their value, thus realizing the circular economy.
