In the modern world, due to the development of science and technology and the transformation of economic structure, various fields are replaced rapidly, and old knowledge is quickly replaced by new knowledge. "Continuous learning" has become a very important thing in life, and the importance of lifelong learning has begun to be valued.Taiwan has also attaching great importance to the development of lifelong learning, the Department of Lifelong Education was established in the Ministry of Education to promote various social education in our country. Therefore, this study analyzes the questionnaire survey of Taiwanese adults` willingness to participate in adult education, in order to propose measures that can increase the rate of Taiwanese learning participation.
The source of the questionnaire data for this study is the "Adult Education Survey of the Ministry of Education". Based on the adult education survey data in the cross-year period, through exploratory analysis, cross-analysis and chi-square test, it explores the change of Taiwanese adults` willingness to participate in adult education between 2017 to 2021.Understand the motivations and barriers to learning participation of adults, and gain an in-depth understanding of the differences in learning among adults from different backgrounds.
The research results show that although the proportion of participating in formal and informal learning has gradually increased in recent years, more and more people lack the willingness to study in the future; young people in employment are prone to not participate in learning due to work restrictions. On the other hand, they mainly participate in vocational-related learning activities; learning through online courses has gradually become the main trend.
Recommendations based on the findings of the study are as follows:
    1. Launching career-related online courses for young and middle-aged groups in employment
    2. Provide physical courses such as interacting with people and improving physical health for the elderly and the unemployed
    3. The government cooperates with enterprises to encourage and subsidize enterprises to hold various learning courses in the company, which can be mainly in business/management, language series, health and leisure or information technology.
