the ancient East Asia, "Chinese character" is a undoubtedly extremely important media of “communication”. With Chinese character, East Asian countries communicated each others in culture, politics, economy, religion and other fields, thus formed a community of East Asian culture under Chinese character. “Nihonsyoki" was born there. The book was written in Chinese characters and rhetoric, alluded a lot from Chinese culture. The importance of old Chinese books affecting and shaping “Nihonsyoki” is evident. But on the other hand, how does "NihonSyoki" "use" texts and allusions of these old Chinese books? How do they implicate in “Nihonsyoki”? Does transforming implication from original books happen (hereinafter referred to as "transformation”)? Or are there lots of China‐style ideas to be borrowed except for texts and allusions? What is the relationship between these ideas and “Nihonsyoki”? Though there have been some studies about allusion and citation of “Nihonsyoki” (like Kozimanoriyuki etc.), they still didn’t answer the questions above in details. Since old Chinese books constitute "Nihonsyoki", certainly we can’t ignore these questions if we want to study “Nihonsyoki”. Based on this viewpoint, this project attempts to pick up from “Nihonsyoki” describing 41 emperors (including 8 generations of next period) and study the two, Emperors Tennmu and Zidou, who have most influence to build royal power in ancient Japan and edit “Nihonsyoki”. Through careful reviewing and analyzing old Chinese books in "Chronicle Before Emperor Tennmu Being Throned” (hereinafter referred to as "Chronicle of Emperor Tennmu Part One”), “Chronicle of Emperor Tennmu” (hereinafter referred to as "Chronicle of Emperor Tennmu Part Two”) and “Chronicle of Emperor Zidou” , this paper would like to research the Chinese allusion and citation by grammar, syntax, using of Chinese characters, ideas and allusions, text composing, description of figures, etc. Furthermore, we would like to discuss the performance and meaning of old Chinese books in “Nihonsyoki”, and its position in the East Asian community of Chinese character by viewing from “work theory” of Konositakamitu. |
