This study adopts action research method to explore a case of a clothing company creating a consignment symbiosis platform. The steps involved in establishing the innovation platform include: production process, supply chain and warehousing, resistance and conflict, platform business model, platform members and rules. Traditional channels have been impacted by the virtual market, and the business channels have been shrinking. This research aims to use the new technology to develop a consignment symbiosis, creating a platform where most supply chain members can cooperate with earch other. Through innovative and operative methods, the new platform enables businesses to regain market operating advantages. This study discusses the following topics: 1. production of a smart manufacturing, 2. the technology and application of consignment symbiosis platform, 3. bring in technology to manage resistance and conflict issues, 4. new design and architecture of supply chain platform, and 5. operation and management of consignment symbiosis platform. The action research method was utilized to discuss how the clothing company transformed itself from a traditional supply chain system into an ecological symbiosis platform. All producers, distributors, and wholesalers were integrated into a single platform to share information. The research further discusses the model of platform operation and management, and how to prevent and solve various problems in the implementation process to increase the platform`s chances of success. The process includes: 1. changes in the production process to manage digitalization and leave traceable records, 2. improvement of the supply chain and warehousing methods with information collection tools and data used continuously in the supply chain, 3. anticipating resistance and conflict behaviors with resolution methods, internally and externally, 4. the design of the platform`s business model, including the consideration of cost and the difficulty of developing the technology, and 5. discovering and establishing the suitable platform structure and members. |
