    Abstract: 《山海经·五臧山经》(以下简称《五臧山经》)分为《南山经》、《西山经》、《北山经》、《东山经》、《中山经》,由五方之山所藏之金、石、草、木、禽、兽、虫、鳞等"物"记述构成其主要内容。《五臧山经》中"明标山川道里方位"与"述明物之位置、种类、质量、功能"、"总校群山祠礼"等三种程式化的记述方式,使其文本形式自成体系,呈现独特的规律性。五方之山,山各有"臧","臧"有其"用"。"臧"有"常"、"异"之分,"用"有"善"、"恶"之别,而"记物"之博与"辨物"之异的思维就鲜明地体现在《五臧山经》的"物"记述中。《五臧山经》就在"以山聚类"、"常异分述"、"善恶有别"的记述原则中形成一个平常自然与怪奇谲丽兼而有之的"记物"与"辨物"体系。
