    Abstract: 本研究採完全參與觀察及深度訪談法,瞭解偏遠地區一所國小學 童閱讀行為及圖書館使用情形。每個年級隨機抽樣二位學童進行訪談, 共 12 位學童,將觀察、軼事紀錄及深度訪談內容與其家庭背景因素 進行分析與探討。 發現偏遠地區國小圖書館的使用情形會因為是否滿足學童心情 與生理上舒適感,而影響其使用意願與頻率;學童喜歡閱讀的書籍種 類有歷史、偵探、恐怖冒險類、旅遊類、科學類等,且連載性書籍能 吸引學童借閱;學校的大型活動會影響圖書館的開放時間,也會影響 學童借還書的狀況,導師是學校老師中對學童養成閱讀行為最大的影響者。
    The study intends to understand the reading behaviors and school library use of elementary school students in remote areas. The researcher adopted complete participation observation and interviewed 12 elementary school students from different family background conditions with Purposive Sampling. The result of the study shows that a perfect library from students’ point of view is having a comfortable environment. It also shows that students love to read history books, detective novel, thriller novel, guidebook, and science book; the serial books draw students to borrow; the factors that influence students to borrow books and reading are library opening hour and class tutor’s encouragement and help.
