Abstract:	本文主要目的是介紹美國國家科學基金會所支持的六個數位圖書館之一，亞歷山大計劃，就相關文獻及筆者參與其網路雛型系統測試之經驗，分別介紹該計劃緣起、計劃內容、計劃成果、網路雛型系統架構、使用者介面、硬體設備及結論等。 The purpose of this article is to introduce the Alexandria Digital Library (ADL), one of six digital library projects, which were announced in the U.S. and supported by the National Science Foundation. The ADL had developed a web prototype system for beta test since mid-June 1995. This paper discussed the project initiation, progress, prototype system, and some comments about the beta tester in details.
