This study examines the difficulties of technology assimilation and analyzes why the technology may not be assimilated in organizations after its deployment. With the ever-changing information technology, automation is the key step for organizations to stay ahead of the industry, and assimilation is regarded as one of the most important outcomes to leverage the potential of technologies in their business activities and strategies. However, how organizations may achieve technology assimilation effectively remains a problem. Most organizations have been considered lack direction on how to successfully infuse new technological innovations within individuals work environment. To address this, this thesis develops a conceptual model emerge from the consolidating data of a pharmaceutical company based on semi-structured interviews with 2 different types of users in Online Approval System, 5 interviewees each type, records of the approvals within two years, and participant observation data within one year. This thesis systematically explored the relationships between Usage, User Satisfaction, and Assimilation in organizations. The results found that the outcome of assimilation could be measured by the actual performance as well as the satisfaction given by all users. Usage and User satisfaction are affected by its Task Characteristics, Personal Factors, Technology Characteristics, and the interaction of use behavior between different users.
