Abstract: After EU`s eastern enlargement in 2004, Slavic language communities became members of EU. Among them there are minority languages in Central and Eastern Europe countries, such as Sorbian, Cassubian and Rusyn languages and the already dead Polabian. Under the globalization tendency within EU, itself a huge political entity, issues about these minority languages maintenance obtain huge interests. This paper will investigate the current situation of the mentioned three minority languages and their language maintenance. Eventually, this paper shall also bring some insight to further discussion for Taiwanese indigenous language revitalization work.
