The factors affecting wage growth have been discussed for a long time by many scholars from home and abroad. It has been topics of concern to everyone. The aim of this is to investigate the effect of capital investment on nominal wage growth rate. The capital investment includes education investment, R&D, foreign direct investment, and fixed capital investment. Moreover, we control variables that may affect wage growth mentioned in previous papers as controlled variables to make our empirical results more reliable. Our samples are 13 different country’s unbalanced panel data from 1990 to 2016. We divide samples into developing countries and developed countries to make sure my results will be more clear. Evidences from fixed effects, random effects and dynamic models show that in developed countries, FDI and R&D have a positive impact on wage growth. On the other hand, education investment, fixed capital investment and foreign direct investment have a positive significant impact in developing countries. |
