    Title: 大學生人格特質與Facebook成癮傾向關係之研究
    A Study of the Relationship between Personality Traits and Facebook Addictive Tendency of College Students

    Abstract: 「Facebook」又稱臉書,創始於2004年。上市後先在大學生族群引起了網路社交的風潮,隨後正式普及到各個年齡層。但隨著科技的進步與社會的變遷,網絡形式的社交與娛樂活動逐漸取代現實世界的一部分,隨之而來的亦有網路成癮的問題。本研究旨在探討大學生人格特質與Facebook成癮之關係,以及大學生Facebook成癮可能的形成因素與影響,採網路問卷及質性訪談的研究方法對台北市公立及私立大專校院之大學生進行研究,獲得636份有效問卷及對十位受訪者進行訪談。研究結果發現,高開放性人格特質的大學生Facebook成癮傾向越高;而大學生情緒穩定性、嚴謹性及宜人性人格特質越高,Facebook成癮傾向則越低;另外,大學生Facebook成癮的形成原因來源於在Facebook上尋找情感慰藉、受到同儕影響、害怕遺漏訊息、可以在Facebook上快速取得資訊及Facebook的影片推送功能這五個方面。Facebook對大學生的正面影響包括Facebook的使用便利性、通過Facebook建立及維繫友誼並且激發思考;負向影響包括隱私及睡眠的問題、以及Facebook會造成的情緒誤會、打亂生活步調以及虛假消息的傳播。
    Facebook, also known as lianshu in Chinese, was founded in 2004. With the advancement of technology, social and entertainment activities in the form of networks have gradually replaced a part of the real world, which has given rise to internet addiction. This study aims to explore the relationship between personality traits and Facebook addiction among college students, as well as the possible contributing factors and effects of Facebook addiction. Data were collected through online surveys and qualitative interviews of college students in public and private colleges in Taipei, 636 valid questionnaires were obtained and interviews were conducted with 10 respondents. The “openness” dimensions of personality traits are shown to positively affect the tendency of Facebook addiction, whereas the “neuroticism”, “conscientiousness”, and “agreeableness” dimensions of personality traits are shown to negatively affect the tendency of Facebook addiction. In addition, the study reveals several reasons for college students’ Facebook addiction, including looking for emotional comfort, influence of peers, fear of missing out, rapid access to information on Facebook, and Facebook’s video function. Facebook’s positive impacts on college students include convenience, building and maintaining friendships, and inspiring thinking, whereas it has negative impacts on privacy and sleep, as well as causing emotional misunderstandings, disrupting the pace of life, and spreading false news.
