This paper transcribes and annotates the Shishixiulianzhengjing. The initial research has shown demonstrates that this sutra is a Buddhist apocryphal text that advocates an approach of bodily cultivation. The extant version of this sutra have a number of errors and omissions, but the practice described in this text can be traced back to Daoist arts. Through the modification and recombination of the approaches recorded in Daoist scriptures, the author of the Shishixiulianzhengjing identifies the purpose of cultivation as the recognition of one`s own buddha-nature. This sutra illustrates the interaction between the Daosim and Buddhism on the approach of cultivation. The part was affected by Manichaeism in the sutra can provide the information of the interaction between Manichaeism and other religions in Song Dynasty.
