The introduction of the hawk eyes system into badminton games represents a revolutionary meaning for the judgement of the referees. It would not only benefit to the players, the referees, ensure the fairness and the accuracy of the games, but also promoted the quality of serviceability in watching the games. The hawk eye in-time replay system has been officially adopted by the badminton super series since 2014. Up to date there indeed exist some problems such as dead angles while replaying. This system may be extremely sharp, but depends mainly upon the results from computer simulation. The badminton birds are not spherical but cone shape. The rotation during flying as well as the damage and the gaps in the feather would cause difficulties in simulating calculation. It is much more complicated than the simulation of a tennis, cricket, or soccer ball. The present study thus suggested that it may be necessary for BWF to pay more attention in improving the computer simulation program to make a complete calculation and establish a spatial simulation system for the movement of the badminton birds. So that the hawk eye in-time replay system may be more suitable for using in the badminton games.
