    Abstract: 徐訏带有幻想、奇情、哲理的爱情故事,在上海孤岛时期,受到了读者热烈的欢迎。他的小说咸被认为能以新鲜"文体"出入雅俗之间,开创20世纪40年代以来中国现代小说中一个新的面向。本文以徐訏在上海时期颇受瞩目的几篇罗曼司小说为主要考察对象,探究其文学特质及文化意涵;从分析徐訏小说叙事背景、人物塑造、情节安排入手,考察徐訏如何融合现代中国文学表达自我的精神与大众阅读的趣味,并在多种思潮激荡、影响下,于小说创作中寄托其对现代之感怀与省思,由此开启了中国现代小说新空间。
