    Abstract: 由文化學者Daniel Miller所主編的Acknowledging Consumption，是1995年出版的消費論述文集。雖然是十多年前出版的著作，但在消費相關理論論述書籍不斷增加擴充的今天，這本書仍具有其相關性以及重要性。原因在於它結合了來自跨領域觀點對於消費理論的耙梳、歷史的整理、以及實用的個案例證。同時專精於消費論述研究的主編Daniel Miller，將消費理論的歷史發展脈絡、消費文化內部的辯證、消費實踐與社會情境的特殊對應，結合跨領域學者關於消費的論述，作了系統化的清晰整理；Miller在本書的前導性文章，對於與消費論述相關的眾多爭議與辯證，尤其進行了細節的檢視。其中的許多議題，在消費文化、生活風格益發與當代社會文化氛圍脈絡緊密連結的今天，仍然能夠提供反思的起點。
