    Abstract: 本論文探討歐洲現代語言心理學之掘起及演進,主要是根據德國境內的研究來進行探討。本論文除了前言及結論之外,另有兩個重要的部分。由於現代語言心理學是在五十年代再度先在美國掀起研究的熱潮,所以第二部分介紹美國語言心理學之掘起及發展,並且進一步討論其貢獻和缺失。第三部分乃是本論文的重心:首先介紹歐洲語言心理學之掘起及發展的梗概,隨後即專重在德國境內數個有名的研究中心自1967年以後的研究貢獻。簡言之,德國的語言心理學,由於所循的哲學及心理學理路不同於英美哲理,故此較強調語言在人際溝通中使用時的心路歷程及語言使用時的社會人際因素。故以德國為現代語言心理學,應視為社會語言心理學,在研究方法及理論上,和美國主流派的語言心理學,有極大的不同。
