In the recent years customer orientation becomes the focus of marketing concepts. Customer satisfaction becomes the major goal of business organization. In order to satisfy the diversification of customer needs, distribution centers and logistics play an important role, and bring the company competitive advantages and customer value. Due to the importance of logistics, our study focus on the supply and demand of logistics management in Taiwan from the viewpoint of logistics knowledge, technologies and people. After the interview with practitioner and academic, we found most of logistics knowledge and technologies come from abroad. In today`s competitive business environment and the planning of Asia-Pacific Operation Center by the government, the firms need the ability to integrate logistics planning, apply information technology to logistics management and manage international logistics. However the results show that very few research are done in these area. The supply of knowledge, technologies and people in these area is very low. Regarding logistics education, there are only 30% colleges offering basic logistics-related courses. To sum up, practitioner and academic should cooperate to promote logistics management.
