According to some former studies, prior attitude is an important factor influencing information processing. This study based on what mentioned above, intends to find how prior attitude influences news reading. The study uses the news about conflict between KMT and DPP as an experimental stimulus. The samples are the partisans of KMT and DPP. The study concludes the following: 1.Prior attitude has an influence on recall. The news recalled by reader is different from the original one and accords with his prior attitude. 2.Prior attitude has an influence on attribution. Both parties blame each other and think the other side should be responsible for the conflict. 3.Prior attitude does not influence the evaluation for the news. Both parties think this news is neutral.
